The Mitex 446 is pre-programmed radio, being compatible with Motorola, Kenwood and Icom 446 channel. A programming kit is available to allow custom programming to suit your needs.

Ability to communicate large groups

These radios have the added benefit of being upgradeable to 5 watts, which is extremely useful if you have a large fleet of radios and you would like to eventually go on to full-powered licensed radios, as there is no need to replace existing radios.

The maximum range given by manufacturers is based on ideal conditions, such as from hilltop to hilltop, but the range you actually get will be much less if you are in a built-up area.
