GAA Tells Fans To Wear Face Masks At Matches

Face Masks at GAA Matches in Ireland Image

As it was widely reported today, the GAA have asked fans to wear face masks when attending club games. They asked that any spectator over the age of 13 years of age should wear a face mask and also carry their own hand sanitiser.

The number of spectators is to be kept low at this stage – 200 minus teams, officials, stewards, and media – to none in the six counties where games must be played behind closed doors.

This is likely to increase to somewhere in the range of 500 shortly, but will include any volunteers, media or people involved in the match. The GAA is taking their responsibilities extremely seriously and instructing people to buy their tickets online, and also to not attend matches if they have any symptoms of COVID-19. And if they have symptoms to calls their GP as soon as possible.

It would expected that there will be track and trace protocols in place to protect the spectators and the hope is to increase the numbers of attendees to add to the world renowned electric atmosphere at GAA games.
